Joyce A. Husseini, LEED AP
GIS Specialist
Joyce Husseini has over 28 years of experience in the engineering and surveying fields. She has been involved in the technology end of the engineering business from the early use of mainframe CADD to the most recent advances in video imaging, communications technology, and GIS. As the GIS Specialist at Nitsch Engineering, Joyce coordinates the integration of GIS into project deliverables and manages system-wide GIS issues.
The majority of Joyce’s GIS experience has been on projects involving utility and infrastructure management. Her projects include completing a utility inventory for Massport's Logan Airport, developing CAD and GIS standards for Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, providing a needs assessment and implementation plan for the Garden State Parkway, and developing campus-wide base mapping for Brandeis University and Boston University. Her background in structural and civil engineering and in web and communication technology make her uniquely qualified to integrate high precision survey and base mapping with GIS to build a product well suited for any highly technical client.
In addition to her two years of Civil/Structural Engineering education at the University of Minnesota, Joyce earned a Certificate in Architectural Drafting from the Minneapolis Drafting School and has taken GIS Professional Development Courses at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is currently working toward a degree in Environmental Studies/Sustainable Design at Harvard’s Extension School.
